Pachuca beat 10 men Atlas

This game was always enjoyable as the top team in the league comes on the field. The First half of the game was a display of good performance from both the teams and it was pleasant to the eyes of the spectators. Both the teams had chances to score goals and shared a similar ball possession. Both the teams pressed high and attacked purpose. Both teams shot were just wide away from the post. Nearing the end of the first half, Jairo Torres had an excellent solo run from the midfield and tried to take a shot from outside of the box, and while taking it, he slipped and went into a Pachuca’s defender. Initially, the referee booked him with a yellow card but soon after the referral of the foul referee decided to change his decision and sent Torres out of the field with a straight red card.

Atlas had to end the first half of the game with ten men. It was then going to be difficult for them to cope with Pachuca’s attack. Pachuca controlled the second half and created chances often but was unsuccessful in converting the goal. Towards the end, Pachuca made several attacking plays in the hope of the winner. In the 87th minute, Roberto scored for Pachuca as his first shot was blocked by the goalkeeper but was again fallen into Roberto’s feet, and he then finished the goal with a lethal strike sending the ball in the top of the net.

Pachuca is now in second place with 19 points; their recent game against the Tigres UANL was postponed.
